Geological Formation

This is a ceramic form of a geological space divided into two parts using local clays gathered in Logan Canyon and Cache Valley. This form was made to reference a valley at a macro-scale or a river bed on a micro-scale. In this piece the broken line dividing it into two parts represents both the fault line in which most of Utah’s population lives within, and the cracks of a riverbed impacted by drought and flooding. In today’s political landscape, water can be seen as healthy communication within political discourse and without the water you get cracks in the earth that eventually struggle to reabsorb and retain the water, leading to catastrophes.
